Out of Town Patients
Welcome to Toronto Cosmetic Clinic
Out of Town Patient Consultation Process
In-Person ConsultationIf you’re going to be in Toronto for any reason prior to when you want to have your procedure performed, we recommend coming to our clinic for an in-person consultation. You’ll be able to sit down with our professional patient consultant, get in-depth information about the procedure(s) you want, and have all your questions answered. Another benefit to an in-person consultation is that, for some procedures such as breast augmentation, you can take advantage of our state-of-the-art 3D imaging technology, which will give you an idea of how you’ll look after the procedure. If you’re unable to make more than one trip to Toronto, we can schedule your initial consultation, physical, procedure, and postoperative follow-up all within the duration of your stay. This will prevent your having to travel back and forth between your home and Toronto.
Phone ConsultationWe’re also happy to speak with you over the phone, if this is more convenient for you. Feel free to schedule your consultation to get information about your desired procedure, plastic surgery costs (or non-surgical cosmetic procedure costs), and to discuss possible procedure dates that accommodate your busy schedule. You can also send photos to give the patient consultant a better understanding of your concerns and what you hope to achieve through your desired cosmetic procedure.
Preparing for Your Out of Town ConsultationBefore coming in or speaking with us over the phone, we highly recommend taking some time to write down all of your questions. This will ensure you get all the information you need, and will reduce the likelihood of your forgetting anything. It will also help us to provide you with thorough explanations, and address all of your concerns.
Booking DepositOnce we’ve determined that you’re a good candidate for your desired procedure, we’ll ask that you submit a deposit to hold your place on our booking calendar. You may pay your deposit by any major credit card, a certified check, or cash. If we perform a phone consultation with you, and you decide to move forward with your procedure at that time, we’ll be happy to take your credit card information over the phone.
Care Instructions PackageOnce your procedure has been booked, we’ll send you a package that contains instructions on how to prepare for your surgery, and for post-operative care to help your recovery go as smoothly as possible. If you have any questions about our out-of-town patient consultation or booking processes, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Planning for Your Out of Town Procedure
Post-Surgical AssistanceAfter your surgery, you’ll stay in our recovery room for a few hours, and then you’ll be able to leave. However, it may still be difficult for you to do things yourself such as drive, or bathe and dress yourself until you’ve had some time to heal. Having someone with you who can help with those activities will make recovery much easier on you, and reduce the risk of you hurting yourself, or damaging incision sites, which would require medical attention.
Professional Caregiver or NurseIf a friend or loved one isn’t able to travel with you, or you just prefer to come alone, we can help arrange a temporary professional caregiver or registered nurse to assist you during your stay. Please be aware, this service will be provided by an outside agency, not our clinic, and you will incur additional costs for this care.
Preparing Your Body for SurgeryCosmetic surgery is still surgery, and requires appropriate pre- and post-care to ensure your health and wellness are preserved. This is especially true if your procedure requires general anesthesia. Please read our Guide to General Anesthesia to learn more about how to properly prepare and care for yourself before and after surgery.
How Long Will I Have to Stay in Toronto?
The length of your stay will depend on a few factors, most importantly, which procedure you have done. For a more invasive surgery such as a tummy tuck, you’ll need to stay longer than for a non-invasive, short procedure such as a non-surgical nose job.
This table will give you an idea of how long you’ll likely need to stay for some of our most popular procedures. Please note that everyone is different, and you may need to stay a bit longer depending on your unique situation. We’ll go over this with you in your consultation, and before performing your procedure.
|Procedure||Length of Stay||Follow-Up Information|
|Breast Augmentation / Breast Lift||2 – 3||Follow-up can be scheduled 1 – 2 days after surgery to accommodate your schedule|
|Liposuction||2 – 3||Follow-up can be scheduled 1 – 2 days after surgery to accommodate your schedule|
|Tummy Tuck||5 – 7||Drainage tubes must be removed 4 – 6 days after surgery, depending on the type of surgery you have|
|Labiaplasty / Hymenoplasty / Vaginoplasty||1 – 2||Follow-up is recommended 2 weeks after surgery; however, email and phone correspondence with the surgeon can be arranged|
|Rhinoplasty||5 – 7||Follow-up is 1 week after surgery to remove stitches; if splints were used, these are removed 3 weeks after surgery|
|Blepharoplasty||5 – 7||Stitches are removed about 7 days after surgery|
