The Procedure
UltraShape® is based on a high tech way of destroying fat, without the pain associated with other cosmetic treatments. Designed to focus on the abdomen, love handles located on the sides and a portion of the lower back, and external thighs (also known as saddlebags), only the unwanted fat cells are targeted. Surrounding tissues, including blood vessels and nerves, are not harmed during the procedure. A single session typically ranges from 60 to 90 minutes, depending on factors such as the individual and the number/size of areas on the body targeted.

Ultrasound energy is smoothly delivered by the device through a hand-held transducer which glides over the targeted area, clearly marked prior to the procedure. This therapeutic energy penetrates the skin at a specific depth, targeting the fat cells in the subcutaneous layer of the designated area to disrupt their membranes, which in turn disperses their contents into the surrounding fluids. These fluids then carry away the contents, which are mainly triglycerides, and are naturally processed by the body's physiological systems in the same way it would proceed with weight loss. Clinical studies have shown that triglycerides released by the UltraShape® device do not significantly accumulate in the blood or liver.
