Get A Bigger Bust, Guaranteed
Let's face it. When it comes to the female form, the breasts are probably the most notable feature. Sure, the legs and butt deserve honourable mention, but what conveys femininity more than the bosom? As a symbol of fertility and sustenance to being what many consider the primary focus of sexual desire, those soft, luscious mounds are undeniably coveted.

But few women are able to enjoy being naturally blessed with a pair that is "perfect" in size and shape, as well as being able to withstand the test of time (amongst other things). If your genetics haven't created a chest that you can be proud of, or if aging, pregnancy and breastfeeding have deflated what you once had, there's no need to worry. Instead of stuffing your bra with socks, popping pills or performing those ridiculous exercises that only guarantee fruitless results, it's high time you've done something to actually boost not only the size of your breasts, but also your self esteem. How?

It's no secret. Aesthetic breast surgery has topped the list for years as the most popular cosmetic treatment for women in North America, and probably the world. Breast surgery for aesthetic purposes specifically refers to two procedures: breast augmentation and mastopexy. Both are the most effective ways to get that bigger, better, and sexier body contour.

Breast augmentation is the safest and most effective way to get bigger breasts permanently. But before you stroll into Toronto Cosmetic Clinic for a relatively simple 2 hour surgery, you've got to consider a few things.

When it comes to breast augmentation surgery, size is probably the first and most important thing you'll have to choose. You've got to choose how big you want to go. Like any cosmetic treatment, because it is your body the decision should be made of your own accord; it is totally up to you. But before you go ahead and choose those 500cc implants, think about whether they're actually suitable for you. Consider your lifestyle, your body frame and what your expectations of undergoing a boob job are. If you're a fitness freak with a lithe and svelte body who wants just a minor adjustment, then it's probably better to go for smaller implants. Alternatively, if you follow a more sedentary lifestyle, have a larger frame, and want a dramatic change that demands more oomph, then bigger is probably better. There is no one perfect size when it comes to implants, despite a consensus that a Ccup is it. Most women prefer something that is proportionately appropriate for their body since it tends to obtain the most satisfying results. That is generally an increase of up to two cup sizes and could be anywhere from a larger Bcup to an Fcup – it all depends.

Deciding on how big to go is easier said than done. Fortunately, during the preoperative consultation you'll be able to touch and feel samples of implants. Feel free to try them out by bringing a bra in the size that you want.

Implants are measured by cubic centimeters. The volume of your own breast tissue is examined to see how much augmentation is required to achieve a specific cup size. Just keep in mind that the bigger you go, the chances of getting stretch marks and shoulder/back pain increase, not to mention making it more difficult to find a comfortable bra and clothes that fit right!

Silicone vs Saline
In Canada, there are two types of implants generally used: silicone and saline. For over a decade, saline was the only type available to the general public. Still used today, it is preferred by some women because the sterile saline solution is basically similar to naturally occurring fluid in the body. In the rare event the implant ruptures, saline can be safely absorbed in the body.

However, based on past, present and future research and testing, silicone was approved for general use in the fall of 2006 by both the FDA and Health Canada. Saline is no longer the only option widely available and silicone is now the preferred filling for the majority of women across North America. Why?

Silicone implants duplicate the texture of natural breast tissue to provide a far more natural feel than those filled with saline. This is despite the thickness and sturdiness of the three layers that compose the shell. The consistency of the silicone filling features the ability to maintain its shape better, minimizing the unappealing occurrence of rippling commonly resulting from saline implants. And because the silicone is in a cohesive gel form, in the rare event of rupture, there is virtually no threat of leakage since it is more solid than liquid and remains intact. The implant could simply be replaced without the health risks that accompanied implants that were previously filled with silicone in liquid form.

Breast augmentation can be performed simultaneously with mastopexy.

Perk Up!
Masto means breast or mammary gland in Greek and pexy means to fix in place. Put them together, and you have the name for one of the most popular cosmetic treatments among women across North America. Mastopexy is a surgical procedure that basically “lifts” the breasts, hence it's more common name, breast lift surgery.

A breast lift has been designed to rejuvenate your body contour and create a breast shape that is more desirable. But what is considered “desirable”?

Unlike breast augmentationmastopexy can follow a specific formula to achieve desirable results. The key lies in the firmness and fullness of the breast, and most importantly, the positioning of the nipple and areola.

Generally, an appealing contour for breasts is one that isn't too flat against the body, mimicking a full teardrop shape. If you were to put a pen underneath the breast, it wouldn't be able to stay in place. The nipple and areola should be of proportionate size and positioned a little above halfway down the teardrop.

During the consultative phase prior to undergoing surgery, the extent of drooping is measured so that the physician can determine how much correction is required.
