The Erchonia Neira 4L™ Laser

The Erchonia 4L™ was approved by the FDA in early 2005 as the first and only low-level laser for use during the liposuction procedure. Research has shown that there is a significant improvement in fat extraction and a reduction in swelling afterwards when the laser is applied during surgery.
How it Works
The painless laser treatment is administered a few minutes prior to liposuction and works by liquefying the fat in the target area, making the removal of unwanted fat faster and easier. Post-operative bruising and swelling is remarkably reduced and patients can expect to be back on their feet sooner than following other forms of liposuction. In addition, because there is less pain experienced, less medication to alleviate the pain is involved.
The FDA approved the laser based on the results of an IRB approved, multi-center, double blind, randomized study. The comparison between the actively treated patients and the placebo-treated patients resulted in an impressive difference between groups in degree of pain. Significant differences in emulsification of fat, ease of extraction, and amount of swelling were also recorded.
