| Signs of Having Had a Bad Tummy Tuck
Thankfully, that unsightly hanging skin and jiggly excess fat are gone. You've dropped a few sizes so you can wear clothes that you wouldn't dream of wearing before and the overall shape of your body hasn't looked this great in years. And, yet, you're still unhappy with the results of your tummy tuck, and frankly, it's understandable.
If you've recovered from abdominoplasty and have conspicuous scars and a belly button that looks strange, it might be the fault of your surgeon. While not following instructions on how to care for yourself before and after a procedure could also be a reason, as well as a possible unforeseen problem, in some cases the surgeon performing the surgery is at fault.
Conspicuous Scars
The simple truth is that incisions result in scars. And because a tummy tuck is an invasive procedure, incisions are required. An experienced physician will make their best effort to place incisions in a discreet area, such as a natural crease in the skin or a location where it will be hidden by the teeniest bathing suit or even the most revealing of clothing.
You won't be eager to show off your new body if the job's done badly, though. Poorly trained and inexperienced surgeons can greatly increase the risk of noticeable scarring if they misjudge placement of the incision and do not take into consideration the individual's unique physiology. So, you may be able to get the body contour you've always wanted, but you won't want to show it off because you'll get a big nasty scar, too.
Remember: scars take time to heal, and often appear worse before they heal completely. Sometimes it requires a while until they fade, smoothen out, and become a thin line. A little patience and care is all it takes.
Misshapen Belly Button
To many, misshapen belly buttons look abnormal because they are one of the telltale signs of having had abdominoplasty. Check out the belly button of a person who's fully recovered from abdominoplasty. Does it look weird? If it does, it might be because of two reasons:
1.After excess skin and fat are removed from the stomach, the physician must reposition the remaining skin. Excessive tension can cause the shape of the belly button to distort.
2.In the event a new belly button is made, the physician probably just didn't do a good job to recreate one that is aesthetically pleasing.
Don't live with the results of a bad tummy tuck for the rest of your life. Correction may be possible by further surgery. And if you haven't undergone abdominoplasty, yet, don't make the same mistake. Look for experience, extensive knowledge, credibility, reputation and professionalism to avoid becoming another statistic. |
