Handpieces for this platform that have been designed to perform the laser hair removal procedure are the LuxY™, LuxYs™, LuxR™, and LuxRs™. Each delivers intense pulsed light at a specific wavelength to achieve permanent hair reduction. The benefits of undergoing treatment with The StarLux™ 500 include efficiency and increased comfort during and after a session, both the result of patented technologies such as Advanced Contact CoolingSM, Smooth PulseSM, and Photon RecyclingSM. Advanced Contact CoolingSM protects the skin by maintaining a comfortable temperature of the sapphire tip, which constantly comes in contact with the skin during treatment. Smooth PulseSM, delivers the laser light emitted by the device smoothly so that the epidermis is not damaged by spikes in energy, as is the case for other lasers. Photon RecyclingSM.increases efficiency and effectiveness by recapturing any scattered light that is reflected off of the skin but has not been absorbed, and delivering it back to the target area.

The LuxY™ Handpiece

The LuxY™ delivers is for larger body areas. It has a spot size of 46 x 16mm.

This handpiece is also designed to target darker pigmented lesions.

The LuxYs™ Handpiece

This handpiece permanently reduces hair that is lighter and finer. It is ideal for those who have such a hair type or are near the end of their treatment cycle. The pulsed light delivered by the LuxYs™ is at a higher peak power and faster repetition rate.

This handpiece is also designed to target pigmented lesions.

The LuxR™ Handpiece

For all skin types, the LuxR™ is ideal. In fact, even tanned skin can be treated. It can treat larger areas on the body because of its 46 x 16mm spot size.

The LuxRs™ Handpiece

Great for all skin types, the LuxRs™ is used to treat smaller areas that require precision. Pulsed light is delivered in a spot size of 28 x 12mm, at a power that is highly concentrated.
