Tell me more about Endermologie®.
Endermologie® is a cosmetic procedure that eliminates or minimizes cellulite on the body. During the procedure, a specially designed device basically massages the area in question, facilitating blood flow to the area and encouraging the lymph to drain trapped toxins. It is not invasive, which means that no surgery is required. Think of it like a deep massage.
What are the results of treatment?
Aside from reducing the appearance of cellulite in the target area, the appearance of stretch marks and loose skin may also be reduced through its ability to exfoliate. Body contours become smooth. In fact, it can even relieve soreness and muscle spasms!
Because Endermologie® stimulates lymphatic drainage, it may help facilitate weight loss as well. However, Endermologie® is not a method of weight loss.
Can both men and women undergo the procedure?
Of course! Endermologie® is great for both men and women alike. The procedure is not gender-specific. Many men undergo the procedure at Toronto Cosmetic Clinic as well.
What areas can be treated?
Basically, any area on the body that has cellulite can be treated. The thighs, stomach, chest, and “love handles” are commonly treated. However, consult a patient consultant or medical professional to make sure the area you'd like to target can be treated. They may suggest another solution that could be more effective and suitable.
How many sessions do I need?
This depends on factors such as how much cellulite there is and your body. Generally, visible changes appear after 6-10 sessions. Results will improve even more with subsequent treatments.
How frequently can I undergo the procedure?
Since Endermologie® is designed to help the body get rid of its own cellulite naturally and without invasive tactics, once or twice per week is the average. You may need to increase your water intake between treatments, as this will help the body get rid of the toxins released by Endermologie®.
How long is one session?
On average, one session lasts just over half an hour.
What should I expect during the procedure?
During the procedure, you'll be asked to wear a body stocking called Endermowear. This is for purposes of hygiene and to allow the device a smoother plane on which to glide.
Your entire body will then be massaged by a handheld device, comprised of a suction piece and rollers. Your medical aesthetician will also concentrate on the target areas during treatment.
Does Endermologie® hurt?
Because it feels like a deep massage, most find it is actually quite relaxing. If any discomfort is felt, notify your medical aesthetician as the device can be adjusted.
Are results permanent?
The results of treatment tend to last long if a healthy lifestyle and diet are followed. However, the signs of aging and other factors may influence results. Maintenance sessions are recommended.
What are the side effects?
The only side effect that may occur is bruising. This is temporary and minor.
