More Information About Endermologie® at Toronto Cosmetic Clinic
Since 1986, Endermologie® has been used in countries around the world as a way to treat cellulite on the body, to improve the texture and appearance of the skin, and to revitalize the contours in the target area. The connective tissue of the skin is also improved. While other cosmetic procedures cannot achieve such results, or require incisions or full scale surgery, Endermologie® at Toronto Cosmetic Clinc is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that is relatively short with hardly any recovery time needed.
Endermologie® was not always used solely as a cosmetic procedure. In fact, it was originally designed to treat skin affected by burns and scarring, as well as muscular tissue that had been damaged. The improvement of in cosmetic appearance of the treated area was simply a side effect. Further research and testing was performed to ensure that Endermologie® could consistently achieve desired results before it was used as a method of cosmetic enhancement.
Ideal Candidates
Endermologie® is ideal for both men and women who exercise regularly and follow a healthy diet, but have found that cellulite still develops in specific areas such as the thighs, hips or buttocks. Loose skin occurring from age and excessive weight loss can also be tightened, most often in the chest and waist area for men in particular.
It is highly recommended that Endermologie® is not performed on women who are pregnant. Those with sensitive skin may find that slight bruising occurs following treatment.
The Endermologie® Procedure at Toronto Cosmetic Clinic
During consultation prior to the procedure, the patient consultant will let you know of how to prepare. You will most likely be asked to drink plenty of water well before treatment.
For the extent of the Endermologie® procedure, which lasts for approximately half an hour, Endermowear is worn. This is a stocking that covers the whole body, yet is thin enough to allow the skin to be treated.
A handheld device, comprised of a suction piece and rollers, is used to gently massage the skin. As the skin is a single organ, the entire body is required to be massaged to increase blood circulation and collagen production for the breakdown of cellulite. However, your laser technician will also concentrate on the target areas during treatment.
Because the Endermologie® procedure is basically a massage, many patients find it to be relaxing.
More than one session is typically required to achieve desired results, however the exact number of sessions depends on the individual and the amount of correction required; your patient consultant will let you know at the time of consultation.
Sessions are generally booked over a number of weeks and months, with visits typically twice per week. Once the desired appearance of the target area has been achieved, sessions normally booked on a monthly basis are required to maintain results.
Just like liposuction and other similar cosmetic procedures, Endermologie® is not considered a method of weight loss. A proper diet and healthy exercise regimen will preserve the reduction of cellulite resulting from a procedure.
