A Girl’s Best Friend

Back aches, droopy breasts, sore shoulders…a good supportive bra can be your best friend. But beware! Bras can also be a girl’s worst enemy.

The body’s way of eliminating toxins naturally by the lymphatic system can actually be hindered by wearing a bra that constricts the chest and breasts, allowing that bad stuff to stay in your system. Which is why tight bras, and even those with misshapen underwire, are a definite no-no for all women – especially in the time following any breast surgery, when drainage is vital for recovery.

A good bra is one that fits comfortably and provides adequate support, but doesn’t suffocate.

interesting if there is a study for breast cancer related numbers comparable between women who wear bras and women who don’t.

    Hi Marie,

    Thanks for your comment.

Further information regarding this topic can be found in scientific studies conducted by several scientists, including Syd Singer and Soma Grismaijer in their book called Dressed To Kill: The Link between Breast Cancer and Bras.

Please note that the link between breast cancer and bras remains inconclusive, therefore further research is required before it is proven absolute.
