New at Toronto Cosmetic Clinic is the safest and quickest method to get rid of unwanted tattoos today - Laser Tattoo Removal with the MedLite® C6 laser device!

Who is Laser Tattoo Removal for?
Laser Tattoo Removal is ideal for those who have a tattoo that they no longer wish to have. Patients should be generally healthy with no active skin infections or history of abnormal scarring in the area of the unwanted tattoo.

Anesthesia
Topical anesthetic may be applied to reduce discomfort.

The Procedure
A consultation with a medical professional is required prior to treatment to ensure that it is appropriate for your situation. This consultation is free at Toronto Cosmetic Clinic.

The procedure is performed by a medical aesthetician. The length of the procedure depends on the size, colouring, method and depth of the tattoo.

Prior to the procedure, the skin in the target areas will be cleansed and a topical anesthetic may be applied to help reduce any discomfort. Special eye protection is worn to avoid damaging the eyes. The skin where the unwanted tattoo is located is then exposed to short bursts of light emitted by the MedLite® C6 Laser. Previous patients have described sensations from the laser device as a slight stinging, much like other laser based cosmetic treatments (e.g. laser hair removal).

After the Procedure
Afterwards, an antibacterial ointment will be applied to the skin in the treated area. The patient should clean the area daily to prevent infection. Depending on the tattoo, a subsequent session will be booked to achieve optimum results. Because the laser breaks up the tattoo ink, which is then naturally eliminated by the body, results are generally not immediate. With time, however, the tattoo will gradually fade.

Side Effects
There may be redness, increased sensitivity and pinpoint bleeding in the treated areas. Scabbing may also occur after a few days. Any scabs that form should not be picked off, but left to shed by themselves. Adverse side effects are normally temporary.
