Laser resurfacing

The older we get, the worse our skin seems to become. Wrinkles, lines, spots, enlarged pores – think you’ll never have that beautiful radiant skin of your youth again? You can, by experiencing the rejuvenating effects of laser resurfacing.
Who is laser resurfacing for?
Laser skin resurfacing is designed for those who want to improve the complexion and quality of their skin. Problems such as wrinkles, thick and rough skin, blemishes, acne, and mild scarring can be treated effectively. Because the procedure encourages collagen production, the youthful quality of the skin can also be restored.
Who is it not designed for?
Those with active skin infections or a history of abnormal scarring should not undergo laser skin resurfacing.
Anesthesia
Topical anesthetic may be applied.
The Procedure
A consultation with a patient consultant is required prior to treatment to ensure that it is appropriate for your situation. This consultation is free at Toronto Cosmetic Clinic.
The procedure is performed by a medical aesthetician or physician at our facilities. The length of the procedure depends on the number of areas to be treated and the extent of correction desired, but typically takes up to one hour. Prior to the procedure, the skin in the target areas will be cleansed and a topical anesthetic may be applied to help reduce any discomfort. Special eye protection is worn. The skin is then exposed to a laser emitted by the Lyra device. You may hear zapping sounds and feel a slight stinging.
After the Procedure
Afterwards, the skin in the treated area may be dressed. Some redness and splotchiness may result but will fade eventually. An ointment to help with recovery may be prescribed. This should be applied daily for up to two weeks following the procedure. A follow-up with a medical professional will be scheduled to monitor healing.
The healing period can take up to several weeks or even month, depending on your body. While you heal, the sun should be protected from the sun.
Side Effects
There may be redness and increased sensitivity in the treated areas. However, any adverse side effects are normally temporary.

Hi Wendy,
Thank you for your comment.
We do offer laser skin resurfacing for a variety of skin tones and skin types, however it would be best to speak with our patient consultant to ensure that the treatment is appropriate for you. At the same time, you may speak with her regarding Botox. Each unit of Botox is $12.00, but the number of units for you depends on the extent of treatment you desire.
Please contact us at 416-221-5554 to book your free consultation, or you can send us your contact number so that we can call you.
Hope this helps!
