At Toronto Cosmetic Clinic, there are two main lasers used during laser assisted liposuction surgery: Erchonia and Smartlipo.

The Erchonia Niera Laser has been used for years at TCC. Manufactured by Erchonia Medical, Inc., it was approved by the FDA for the purpose of assisting in the liposuction procedure. The Erchonia has the ability to shorten recovery time and minimize bruising.

The newer laser available at TCClinic is Smartlipo. Since the summer of last year, this new laser not only offers the benefits of the Erchonia, but can also minimize bleeding by coagulating tissue. A remarkable side effect of Smartlipo is tightening of the skin in the target area, which traditional forms of liposuction has failed to do for so many years. As a result, no additional surgery is required to remove lax skin in a treated area.
