At TCC, there are two devices that are utilized for laser hair removal: the Lyra and the Sciton. While most of our clients achieve desirable results from undergoing treatment with either device, in some instances, one may be more effective than the other. The most suitable device for you depends on your skin and hair type.

If you have pale skin and fair hair is also fine, our medical aestheticians will most likely recommend the Sciton.

Those with darker skin and hair are generally treated more effectively with the Lyra. The Lyra is also effective for coarse hair.

And don’t be surprised if, though the course of your treatment, that the device you started off with is switched with another. Since hair becomes finer as treatments progress, you may switch to the Sciton to get rid of those last straggly strands.
