Laser Tattoo Removal and Ghosting

Ghosting is a term the industry gives to the residual image left by a tattoo after laser tattoo removal is performed. This image is called a ghost because treatment removes all of the tattoo dye, but also leaves the treated area slightly paler than the surrounding skin.

Ghosting is a typical side effect with many types of laser removal systems, since laser energy can affect the skin’s pigment. Fortunately, it is not a common side effect related to the Medlite C6,  the laser we use here at Toronto Cosmetic Clinic.
