More Botox = Less Botox Needed
Here’s a question we sometimes get from clients interested in Botox.
Why do repeated Botox injections achieve longer lasting results?
Botox targets the muscle that has created the wrinkle in the overlying skin. An injection prevents the muscle from moving, and every time you get another injection, the muscle remains virtually immobile. Gradually, the targeted muscle atrophies, weakening to the point that it can no longer contract as much as it could before the treatments started. That’s why repeated Botox injections can achieve longer lasting results. While the first treatment you have usually achieves results that last up to 18 months, subsequent treatments achieve results that can last longer.
If you stop getting Botox, after a while the effects of treatment wear off, and the muscle will be able to contract again.
