Did you know…
that blepharoplasty, commonly known as eyelid surgery, has been around since at least the first century A.D.? Historic records suggest that the procedure was performed in Ancient Rome, as detailed by the Roman Aulus Cornelius Celus. The procedure recorded described removing a portion of skin to allow the eyelid to relax.
These days, blepharoplasty in cosmetic surgery is more commonly performed to remove baggy eyelids and to create a double eyelid. It’s come a long way since the first century A.D.!
