    I heard that acne scarring is usually very expensive to treat and most of the time, the best you can do is a 30% improvement. How much of this is true? I have depressed scarring from acne like boxscars, icepick etc.

    Thanks for your email.

    It is true that several deeper scars often do not respond well to laser acne scarring treatment. There often is improvement, but maybe not to the extent originally hoped for. How an individual responds to a specific treatment depends on their skin and overall health.

    However, to determine if your particular scars can be effectively removed or reduced to a desirable extent, it is best to see our patient consultant face to face. That way, you’ll be able to get a more accurate and honest assessment of your situation, and find out alternatives that could help you.
