Mike asks about Tummy Tucks
I have a diagonal scar from above my navel down to ‘bikini line’ from abdominal surgery. I am not overweight but I do have a bit of a stomach. I have seen scars like this eliminated when people with allot of fat have the scar section removed and a tummy tuck procedure. Can this be done when there is not much fat? What is the cost of this procedure if it can be done?

We say:
Thanks for sending us your question.
Tummy tucks can remove scars and other skin blemishes by removing the area altogether during surgery, like you said. The procedure is designed to remove excess fat and/or excess skin. Therefore, when there isn’t much fat, only the excess hanging skin can be targeted for removal. This is great for people who have poor skin elasticity, when the skin cannot retract after massive weight loss, pregnancy, or due to aging.
So, if you have excess hanging skin, a tummy tuck may be able to remove the scar.
Pricing for a tummy tuck begins from $7000. But before you decide to get one, make sure you call the clinic to book your free consultation with our patient consultant. They’ll be able to better assess your situation, and make sure that a tummy tuck is appropriate for your situation. They may even be able to provide alternatives.
