Move Over Flouride

Researchers at Tulane University in New Orleans have found that cocoa beans contain a more helpful medicinal ingredient for toothpaste than common flouride. The extract from cocoa beans, called theobromine, helps to harden tooth enamel better than flouride, thereby protecting the teeth from cavities and decay.
Could this be another way to promote chocolate? Probably, but don’t go overboard. Chocolate bars still contain tons of one of your teeth’s worst enemies, sugar. But we could be seeing chocolate flavoured toothpaste in the years to come!
