It may be hard to believe for some of us, but in some parts of the world, having a lot of hair down there is considered a good thing. While women in the West are more likely to minimize or totally remove all traces of their pubic hair by shaving or laser hair removal for aesthetic reasons, in Korea it’s a big no-no.

Lush hair growth is considered to be a traditional sign of fertility, so much so that some who lack it are undergoing a cosmetic surgical procedure that probably wouldn’t be so popular in Canada: pubic hair transplants.

Pubic hair transplants are common for women who suffer from loss of or less than normal amount of hair due to genetics or other external factor. It is technically known as pubic atrichosis or hypotrichosis.
