According to a recent survey, cosmetic surgery is gaining popularity in Israel. Over the last two years, there has been a 16% increase in the number of cosmetic surgical procedures performed in the country. So far, there have been a recorded 11,600 procedures counted in 2007, and it’s still not the end of the year!

Granted, this number seems pretty low compared to North American standards (over 11 million for 2006 in the US alone!), but with the development of new techniques and technologies in the field, we’re sure the numbers will continue to rise in the future.

The most popular procedure in Israel for 2007 so far is breast augmentation, followed by facelifts, nose jobs and liposuction. In Canada, liposuction remains the most popular cosmetic surgical procedure.
