Ear Sculpting – Spock Style

fairyApparently, pointy ears are all the rage in some parts of the world – and we’re not talking about slightly pointed, either. They’ve got to be pointy enough at the top to resemble Tinkerbell’s. But most of us aren’t born with such ears.

Enter Dr. Lajos Nagy.

The New York based physician has catered to the demand with his Music Faun Procedure. Dr. Nagy (perhaps using the Star Trek character, Spock, as a model for his technique) claims that pointy ears aren’t just to improve the aesthetic appearance of an individual; it also has a great functional purpose as well. This form of cosmetic ear surgery also enhances hearing ability and consequently makes music sound better. The procedure involves altering the cartilage and skin of the ear to achieve a point.
