Reduce the Swelling
Friday, July 4th, 2008Following any type of eyelid surgery, whether it be to create a crease in the upper eyelid, reduce puffiness, or eliminate sagging lids, there will be some swelling that occurs. This is a typical side effect of this invasive cosmetic treatment and is part of the normal recovery process. Your physician will recommend some ways to reduce this swelling.
Some ways that may be suggested include placing cooling aids gently on the eyes, such as ice packs. You may want to avoid using things that are totally frozen, as this may impede recovery and adversely affect your eyes. Use chilled things instead. Another way to reduce swelling is to keep your head slightly elevated while lying down. This prevents fluids from pooling in the area of the eyes.
