Doo Doo Facial
Thursday, July 10th, 2008A day spa in New York City has introduced a new treatment to beautify the skin. Sure, it may sound boring…until you hear what they’re using.
The Geisha “Bird Poop” Facial is exactly what it sounds like - a facial mainly comprised of bird poop. Apparently, powdered nightingale droppings have long been used by geisha and kabuki actors in Japan to soften and brighten the complexion, as well as to remove makeup. It is believed that it is the enzymes in the droppings that makes it so effective.
But before you go scooping up some doo doo to slather on your face, it is important to note that the droppings used by the spa have been sanitized by UV exposure before being powderized and mixed with rice bran.
The Geisha Facial costs $180US for 50 minutes. Wonder if pigeon droppings have the same effect?
