Bras for Implants
Just got bigger boobs? You need a new bra!
In the weeks following the breast augmentation procedure, it is highly recommended you not wear a bra with underwire. This may impede healing and create odd-looking depressions in the skin that could become permanent. It can even affect the positioning of the implants, so stay away from those things for at least a few months!
But after you’ve healed and are ready to go bra shopping, you’ll probably need more support than what you were accustomed to before. It’s imperative that you follow the same steps as Friday’s post, but choose something that accommodates the implants.
Some manufacturers provide bras that have been specially designed for women who have undergone breast enlargement. While they may be hard to find in Toronto, you may want to call the specialty bra shops in the city to see if they offer any. Often, these types of bra have cups that fit a rounder breast or dimensions that support the shapes of popular breast implants on the market today (round or teardrop). The shape of the underwire may also be in more of a perfect semi-circle. A popular bra specially designed for women with implants is the Le Mystere No. 9.
