The Importance of Having Breakfast

Not hungry in the morning? Too much in a rush to eat something? On a diet?

It doesn’t matter. You’ve got to eat something first thing in the morning. Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day because it jumpstarts your metabolism, helping you concentrate better and function more efficiently.

And don’t think skipping it will make you lose weight faster. It’ll actually hinder your diet because you’ll be prone to snacking more often, later on in the day. Even worse, most people who skip breakfast become so famished by dinner that they often have a huge meal just hours before going to bed, which can actually lead to weight gain.

I want more definition in my cheeks. What can I do?

To fill out sunken cheeks or smooth out their contours, injectable fillers are probably your best bet. Injectable fillers, such as Juvederm, can help fill out those cheeks to make them more prominent or smoothen out the contours. Even the subtlest change can result in a huge improvement to the overall appearance of your face. Each treatment takes about 20 minutes, and is performed by our injectable fillers specialist. Though you will notice a change after one session, a series of sessions may be required to obtain optimal results.

Botox…For the Breasts?

Thursday, January 10th, 2008

We all know that Botox can eliminate wrinkles, especially those frown lines on the face. But did you know that some physicians are using it to lift up sagging breasts?

By injecting a number of units into the pectoral muscles located under breast tissue, droopy breasts are boosted up. The technique has been most effective for smaller breasted women.

While some Canadian and European medical professionals offer this treatment, it is still relatively unknown and has not been granted complete approval by the industry. As a result, we do not offer this service at Toronto Cosmetic Clinic.

To boost up those sagging breasts, a breast lift would be a better bet.

Move Over Flouride

Researchers at Tulane University in New Orleans have found that cocoa beans contain a more helpful medicinal ingredient for toothpaste than common flouride. The extract from cocoa beans, called theobromine, helps to harden tooth enamel better than flouride, thereby protecting the teeth from cavities and decay.

Could this be another way to promote chocolate? Probably, but don’t go overboard. Chocolate bars still contain tons of one of your teeth’s worst enemies, sugar. But we could be seeing chocolate flavoured toothpaste in the years to come!

A Solution to Acne Scarring

Acne just doesn’t come and go. For some of us, pimples leave a bitter reminder - a mess of scars in its wake. Pockmarks, redness and roughnes damage the skin’s complexion usually permanently. Fortunately, there are several cosmetic treatments that can erase scars resulting from acne. One of the most popular, chemical peels, utilize TCA (trichloracetic acid) to minimize and eliminate all signs of scarring. AllĀ  you’re left with is clean, fresh skin.
