The Perfect Face and Body

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

So, when it comes to perfection, it looks like it’s all about Katie Holmes, Angelina Jolie, Kiera Knightley, Paris Hilton and Jessica Biel.

Cosmetic surgeons in the US and the UK have discovered that most of their female clients request the facial and body features of these actresses and socialites. This is the equation:

Katie Holmes’ eyes + Angelina Jolie’s lips + Kiera Knightley’s cheeks + Paris Hilton’s complexion + Jessica Biel’s body = beautiful.

For men, Brad Pitt, George Clooney and David Beckham topped the list.

If you’re thinking about undergoing a cosmetic surgical procedure, we recommend that you determine what is beautiful and not rely on what other’s believe. Generally, patients who do so find more success with their results.

But if you find that, for example, Jessica Biel’s body is what you’d like, bring a picture of her in to  your complimentary consultation with our patient consultant so she’ll be able to better understand what you’re looking for.

What is a Contour MicroLaserPeel?

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

There are several cosmetic treatments available to minimize and eliminate wrinkles, scars, uneven pigmentation and kerastoses. One popular treatment is a Contour MicroLaserPeel.

What is a Contour MicroLaserPeel?
A MicroLaserPeel is a treatment that utilizes the Sciton laser to gently remove the top layers of the skin in a target area. By doing so, not only is the fresher skin underneath revealed, but problems such as wrinkles and scars are reduced and eliminated.

The procedure, performed by a licensed medical aesthetician at Toronto Cosmetic Clinic, is considered stronger than a light chemical peel. More than one session is typically necessary to achieve desired results.

For more information about the Contour MicroLaserPeel procedure, please call us at 416-221-5554.

Did she or didn’t she?

At 49, Yummy Mummy Madonna is still looking great for her age. But is she getting help from cosmetic surgery?

Recent reports have spotted her wearing a big pair of sunglasses, even at night, to hide alleged bruised around her eyes. While it may have been from some vicious fight, bruises around the eyes are a temporary side effect of rhinoplasty. So, do we think that she’s gotten a nose job?

Well, Madonna has refused to comment so I guess we’ll never know. But her face is looking great, despite her age. And she seems to have stopped aging, no longer getting those wrinkles that form around the eyes, mouth and on the forehead. Plus, she doesn’t have much sagging skin either…

You’re not a good candidate for a chemical peel if…

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

You are under 12 years old.

You have taken Accutane, a vitamin a based treatment for severe acne, in the last year.

You have received chemotherapy or radiation therapy in the last year.

You are allergic to Aspirin or other salicylate (painkiller).

You are pregnant or breastfeeding.

You have a history of allergies or skin reactions such as rashes and irritations.

While a chemical peel is a great way to rejuvenate, refresh and smoothen the skin, make sure you don’t fall under any of these categories when you’re exploring it as an option for treatment. The patient consultant at TCC may recommend an alternative treatment that would be more suitable for your situation.
