The Slimmer Suit

Friday, November 30th, 2007

This season, the slimmer suit is in for men. With a snugly fit jacket and the pants a little more unforgiving to those unattractive bulges, the new suit features a streamlined silhouette and clean, crisp lines. Gone are those bulky jackets and baggy pants, which may seem like a punishment for some of you carrying around a few extra pounds. But it’s not.

If you’re a little on the hefty side and aren’t willing to go for liposuction just yet, find yourself a good tailor to make the suit for you. They’ll help hide the extra weight, and still make you look good.

Is it the formula for the perfect breast?

After researching pictures of models, Dr. Patrick Mallucci has revealed what he believes is the “Perfect Breast”. What makes breasts attractive is a balance between the upper and lower portion of a breast, with the nipple/areola positioned almost halfway between the top and bottom. The nipple should be pointed slightly upwards, for that “perky” look.

Dr. Mallucci believes that Victoria Beckham has the worst set of breasts, while model Caprice Bourret has the best.

Ever wonder why your eyes are all puffy when you wake up? Well, it’s because while you sleep, bodily fluids pool around the eyes. Eventually, these fluids will drain away, and the puffiness will go away. The same goes for when you cry.

But if you’ve got puffy eyes all the time, you might want to look at your diet. If you eat a lot of salt, the sodium can promote water retention. Reduce your sodium intake adn eventually your puffy eyes may go away.

Capsular Contracture

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

In general, breast augmentation achieves the desired body contour of the woman who undergoes it, thereby improving their self-image and self confidence.

But with all surgery, there are risks. Part of preparing for surgery is knowing the risks that are associated with it.

One risk of breast augmentation is capsular contracture.

Capsular contracture occurs when breast implants are placed in the body and a lining of fibrous tissue made of collagen naturally forms around it. While this is the body’s natural response to any foreign object, in capsular contracture, the lining tightens, thereby squeezing the implant and making it feel hard.

It is not definite what the exact reason is for this to happen, but some things like a hematoma and bacterial contamination have been pinpointed. Submuscular placement may also reduce the risk.

There are different levels of capsular contracture that occur, and only one breast may be affected rather than both. If the implants feel hard and are painful,  further surgery can be performed to remove the implant.
