No Implants Allowed

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

Chinese censors are cleaning up the airwaves by banning a number of shows and ads considered to be “sexually explicit”. Not only are radio and t.v. shows being pulled, but the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) have also decided that birth control and breast implant ads are too racy as well and defy the “socialisty spirit” that they intend to implement.

But the banning of commercials for breast augmentation probably won’t reduce the number of women undergoing the procedure in the country. China has seen a jump in the number of women undergoing breast augmentation in recent years, and there’s nothing to indicate that the numbers will fall.

Bras for Implants

Just got bigger boobs? You need a new bra!

In the weeks following the breast augmentation procedure, it is highly recommended you not wear a bra with underwire. This may impede healing and create odd-looking depressions in the skin that could become permanent. It can even affect the positioning of the implants, so stay away from those things for at least a few months!

But after you’ve healed and are ready to go bra shopping, you’ll probably need more support than what you were accustomed to before. It’s imperative that you follow the same steps as Friday’s post, but choose something that accommodates the implants.

Some manufacturers provide bras that have been specially designed for women who have undergone breast enlargement. While they may be hard to find in Toronto, you may want to call the specialty bra shops in the city to see if they offer any. Often, these types of bra have cups that fit a rounder breast or dimensions that support the shapes of popular breast implants on the market today (round or teardrop). The shape of the underwire may also be in more of a perfect semi-circle. A popular bra specially designed for women with implants is the Le Mystere No. 9.

Taking Care of Your Breasts

Uncomfortable, annoying and potentially unhealthy. Did you know that approximately 75-85% of Canadian women wear an ill-fitting bra?

Most women wear a bra everyday, so don’t skimp out when buying a new one. These are some helpful tips when choosing the right one for you:

Place the breasts into the cups by leaning forward when putting a bra on. Then, make sure that your breasts aren’t spilling out over the top or bottom. This may look sexy, but it could cut off the circulation in the area. In fact, any part of the bra that seems to be cutting into you should be adjusted to prevent this. If it cannot, then get another bra.

The small strap between the breasts should lie flat against your body.

Underwire should extend comfortably partially around the breast to provide ample support and should be lying flat against your body rather than poking into your rib cage or breast tissue.

And don’t think that buying one bra will be good for life. The effects of time and gravity can do a number on your breasts, and finding a bra that appropriately addresses these changes is vital.

Women who have undergone breast augmentation can also follow these tips when buying a new bra, but may need different requirements because of their implants. On Monday, we’ll provide more info!

Confirmed Nose Job!

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

She can deny it all she wants, but it’s finally been made official by her father.

Ashlee Simpson, pop singer and occasional actress, has publicly denied having had a nose job. Fortunately, the truth was finally revealed by her father, Joe Simpson, in an interview on Fox News a few weeks ago. He admitted that his daughter underwent rhinoplasty to reduce the prominence of her nose by smoothing out a bump on its bridge after feeling like the “ugly duckling” beside her older sister, singer/actress Jessica Simpson. Ashlee is 22 years old.

We wonder if her father will also admit that those rumors about her Botox injections are true!
