Spreading the Word on Smartlipo

As the first cosmetic clinic in Canada to offer Smartlipo, we have become somewhat of an “expert” in this new method of liposuction in the country. How, you ask?

Well, Smartlipo is pretty hot right now, but not many people perform the liposuction technique in Canada. So, we’ve decided to help out by teaching other doctors in Smartlipo so that they can help all the people who can’t make their way to TCC. These doctors will be able to perform the procedure with the Smartlipo LaserBodySculpting Workstation at their clinic. In fact, just today, Dr. Behnaz Yazdanfar and our medical staff will be training a doctor from Ontario.

It’s just another way for us to give people around the country the option of making the best possible decision in their cosmetic treatment.

Dear Dr. Yazdanfar,
I would like to come to Toronto and have a laser liposuction done. Should I have a phone consultation first? I only have a week off so I have to arrange everything before I come. Any suggestion?

Hi Sophia,

At TCC, we get a lot of clients who live outside of Toronto. For out of town clients, we understand that minimizing a stay in Toronto is essential because it can get costly with accommodation fees, transportation and food. Typically, we recommend clients to stay at least 4-5 days so that a free consultation, pre-operative visit, the actual surgery and a follow up can be suitably arranged.

As we do our best to accommodate your schedule with ours, please tell us that you don’t live in Toronto at the time you book your free consultation. That way, we can prepare for your arrival and make sure everything gets done within the time you’re here. You may also have to pay a deposit in order to secure your surgery date.

And just to let you know, there is a hotel called the Novotel just a few blocks away from the clinic that provides a discount for TCC clients.

Please email us, or better yet, call us at 416-221-5554 to get the ball rolling towards a new you!

Juvederm® vs. Botox®

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007

We get a lot of questions regarding the difference between Juvederm® and Botox®. Granted, there are many similarities between the two. For example, both are manufactured by American-based company Allergan Inc. and non-surgically eliminate or minimize the appearance of wrinkles.

The Difference

But did you know that Juvederm® treats wrinkles and creases in a different way? While Botox® relaxes the muscle which forms the wrinkle in the skin covering it, Juvederm® “fills out” the wrinkle without affecting the muscle in the treated area. Plus, it can even augment lips, something Botox® just can’t do. That’s why Juvederm® is classified as an Injectable Filler. Hyaluronic acid is the primary ingredient.

What’s Hyaluronic Acid?

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the human body. It assists in the hydration and volume in the skin, contributes to the proliferation and migration of cells and is essential in tissue repair. For this reason, a skin test is not required before treatment with Juvederm®.
